We began by reading the Bible lesson and talking a little about it. To help the children think about the lesson, we led them through a guided meditation. At the end they drew a picture of what they saw and felt. Making drawings about the meditation.Surprisingly, the children focused on the activity very well for their age. I led the discussion on their pictures and how it related to their thoughts and feelings. This was the most in depth discussion that I have ever led. I found it difficult to hold their attention at first, but not impossible.
The children follow better when I am doing the motions and singing with them, rather than telling them when to move or sing. Getting ready for our dress rehearsal. |
